Inbizzy, Switzerland – Porsche AG has officially opened its first Charging Lounge in Switzerland, expanding its premium fast-charging network beyond five existing sites in Germany and one in Austria. The new facility is located in Signy-Avenex, near Nyon and Lake Geneva, close to the A1 motorway that connects Lausanne and Geneva-making it a strategic spot for travelers commuting between Germany and France.
Designed for maximum comfort and charging efficiency, the lounge offers charging speeds of up to 400 kW and caters exclusively to Porsche electric vehicle drivers, including the Taycan and the new electric Macan.
High-Speed Charging Meets Premium Comfort
The Signy-Avenex Charging Lounge features six high-speed charging points, each with up to 400 kW capacity. A current-generation Taycan can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes, while the Macan requires approximately 21 minutes.
Outdoor seating areas with integrated speakers complement the premium ambiance, while inside, customers can relax in lounge chairs and enjoy refreshments, snacks, a coffee machine, water dispenser, modern restrooms, and high-speed Wi-Fi-all available free of charge. The entire facility is monitored 24/7 for safety.
The lounge follows the modular architectural concept developed in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche, combining a consistent Porsche design language with adaptability to local landscapes. The building uses a heat pump system for climate control and partially runs on solar energy from rooftop panels, with minimal concrete usage to support sustainability.
Seamless Access and Affordable Rates
Access to the Charging Lounge requires a Porsche ID. If a license plate is linked to the ID, an automatic barrier opens via license plate recognition. Alternatively, customers can use a Porsche Charging Card or a QR code from the My Porsche app. Charging is billed centrally through the Porsche Charging Service, with an affordable rate of just 0.39 CHF/kWh. Ad hoc payment is also supported.
Award-Winning My Porsche App
All Porsche Charging Lounges are integrated into the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system and the My Porsche app. The app recently secured first place in Auto Bild’s ranking of 32 charging services from carmakers and independent providers, receiving a “very good” rating in all tested categories: pricing, usability, and network coverage.
Swiss Market: A Key Region for Porsche
Porsche has highlighted Switzerland as a key market for its electrification strategy. In 2024, over 5,000 Porsche vehicles were registered in the country-a sales increase of over 10 percent year-on-year. Porsche Schweiz AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Porsche AG, manages a network of 14 Porsche Centres, one Porsche Studio, and five Porsche Service Centres. Around 60 employees work at its headquarters in Rotkreuz, Canton of Zug.
Strategic Partnerships Power Network Expansion
Alongside the new lounge, Porsche announced a new strategic partnership with GoFast AG, Switzerland’s leading national fast-charging network operator. GoFast currently operates around 90 fast-charging sites across major transportation routes and hubs, with plans to grow the network to over 200 locations in the coming years.
Porsche’s preferred charging partners also include IONITY-which currently operates over 750 fast-charging sites across Europe with around 4,900 charging points-and Aral pulse, which has added over 3,000 charging points in Germany. Porsche Charging Service Plus customers can charge at partner locations at a discounted rate of €0.39/kWh.
Porsche Charging Service: 900,000+ Charging Points Across Europe
The Porsche Charging Service currently provides access to over 900,000 charging points across more than 25 European countries. Nearly 75,000 of these offer DC fast-charging with power above 150 kW, making it one of the most comprehensive and powerful charging networks available in Europe.
