Inbizzy, Bicester, Oxfordshire – Over 5,500 Porsche enthusiasts from around the world descended upon Boxengasse in Bicester, UK this past weekend for Megaphonics ’25, now officially recognized as Europe’s largest Porsche community event. The annual celebration of all things Porsche brought together a global crowd to witness a rich tapestry of design, engineering, motorsport legacy, and community spirit.
A Festival for the Global Porsche Community
Organized by UK-based independent Porsche specialist Boxengasse, this year’s edition hosted 61 automotive brands and welcomed visitors from across Europe-including France, Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland-as well as long-haul guests from the US, Canada, Australia, and the Middle East. Megaphonics has become more than just a car show; it’s a celebration of Porsche culture in its most inclusive form.
Spread across 40 hectares of purpose-built Porsche-inspired grounds, the event’s relaxed, festival-like vibe encouraged fans to engage with the cars, the people, and the legacy behind the iconic marque. Divided into three distinct zones-air-cooled, water-cooled, and a curated rare collection-the layout was designed to connect private owners, collectors, dealers, sponsors, and restoration experts in one immersive experience.
Rare Legends and Racing Icons on Display
Among the standout displays were over 55 exceptionally rare Porsche models, many of which are rarely seen in public. The legendary 917 K in Gulf livery, made famous by Steve McQueen’s Le Mans, took center stage alongside iconic prototypes such as the 904-079, 906, and the very first 908 ever built. Nine Group C endurance racers, including the 956 and 962, further showcased Porsche’s rich motorsport DNA.
Inside Boxengasse’s exhibition halls, visitors were taken on a visual journey through Porsche’s evolution-from the early endurance prototypes to the final air-cooled 911 “The Last Waltz” (993). Accompanied by curated music, local cuisine, and artwork, the event emphasized not just speed or rarity, but the historical and cultural value of each model.
“These cars don’t just look or sound incredible-they carry stories and significance,” said Frank Cassidy, CEO of Boxengasse. “We’re a Porsche event, yes, but more than that, we’re a celebration of craftsmanship, design, and engineering excellence.”
Community Over Collectability
What makes Megaphonics truly stand out is its inclusive spirit. From off-road rally-spec Cayenne builds to modern Carrera GTs and humble 356 Speedsters, every Porsche model was equally celebrated. Attendees appreciated each car for its story, not its price tag-reinforcing the idea that Porsche ownership is as much about passion as it is about prestige.
“Porsche is incredibly accessible,” Cassidy noted. “We’ve built an event that welcomes every kind of enthusiast, regardless of the model they drive.”
Looking Ahead: 80 Years of Porsche, and More to Come
With Porsche approaching its 80th anniversary, Megaphonics is evolving into a vital cultural platform for connecting the brand’s history with its future. As Boxengasse plans future editions of the event, the team aims to expand its reach, attract new audiences, and keep Porsche’s heritage alive for generations to come.
From historic endurance racers to modern-day masterpieces, Megaphonics ’25 delivered a compelling reminder of why Porsche remains one of the most loved and respected names in automotive history.
