Inbizzy, Jakarta, – Indonesian fintech startup Monit has successfully raised US$2.5 million in a seed funding round led by Cento Ventures, with participation from Japan-based Sansan, and returning investors 1982 Ventures and Init 6.
The new funding marks a strategic milestone for Monit as it accelerates product innovation and regional expansion into key Southeast Asian markets.
Tackling Financial Inefficiency in Enterprises
Founded in 2022, Monit offers an end-to-end spend management platform tailored for mid-sized to large enterprises. The solution enables companies to monitor and control expense workflows in real-time—from reimbursements and invoicing to vendor payments.
According to CEO and Co-founder Rizki Aditya, many fast-growing companies in Southeast Asia still rely on fragmented systems or spreadsheets to manage their operational spending.
“We see countless companies with strong growth but outdated financial processes. Monit is built to bring structure, automation, and visibility into how businesses spend money,” Rizki explained.
Growth Targets and Regional Expansion
With the latest capital injection, Monit plans to accelerate market entry into Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia, while expanding its product, sales, and AI engineering teams.
The company is also investing heavily in AI development to deliver predictive insights and streamline enterprise finance operations.
So far, Monit has:
• Processed over US$200 million in transaction volume.
• Set a target of US$1.4 billion in TPV (Total Payment Volume) by 2026.
• Achieved 5× year-on-year revenue growth.
• Onboarded nearly 1,000 enterprise clients, including Indonesia’s leading property group Ciputra.
Industry Context: Fintech Seizing Momentum
While global venture funding has slowed since late 2023, fintech adoption in Indonesia remains robust. QRIS-based digital transactions have surged 192% year-over-year, hitting US$36 billion, and card-based payments are projected to reach US$87 billion by 2029.
Yet, many mid-sized businesses still lack access to robust financial tools—a gap Monit aims to bridge.
With solid business fundamentals, a sharp focus on AI innovation, and a clear go-to-market strategy, Monit is well-positioned to become a category-defining player in Southeast Asia’s enterprise fintech space.
As funding landscapes shift toward profitability and disciplined scaling, Monit’s capital-efficient approach and regional ambitions may place it among the most promising startups to watch in the coming years.
