Inbizzy, Cupertino, California – Apple Inc. is preparing a major push into artificial intelligence (AI) with a new portfolio of products, including an interactive desk robot, smart home devices, and a significant upgrade to its Siri virtual assistant. The move is seen as an effort to reignite innovation following the underwhelming market performance of its Vision Pro headset.
The company’s flagship AI project under development is an interactive desk robot powered by next-generation AI technology. The device is designed to hold natural conversations, remember relevant information, and fully integrate with Apple’s ecosystem. It is expected to debut in 2027.
Apple is also working on a smart speaker with a display, scheduled for release in 2026. This device will run on a new operating system called Charismatic and is projected to serve as a smart home hub, complete with built-in security camera capabilities.
The company is rebuilding Siri with its own large language models (LLMs), internally codenamed Linwood and Glenwood. The upgraded Siri is expected to roll out across various Apple devices starting next year.
Beyond the desk robot, Apple is exploring several prototypes and concepts, including a wheeled robot similar to Amazon’s Astro, humanoid robots, industrial robotic arms, foldable iPhones, smart glasses, and hybrid MacBook–iPad devices.
These initiatives aim to strengthen Apple’s position in the smart home market, competing directly with Samsung, Meta, Amazon, and Google. The strategy comes after Apple canceled its multibillion-dollar autonomous car project and began seeking new revenue streams in the AI era.
