Huawei Taps Brazil’s Data Center Market Amid Awaited Tax Incentives for Tech Investment

Inbizzy, Rio de Janeiro, — Chinese tech giant Huawei interest in investing in Brazil’s growing data center market. However, the company is holding back on its plans while it awaits the implementation of a government-backed tax incentive scheme.

Atilio Rulli, Huawei’s Vice President of Public Relations for Latin America and the Caribbean, said the company sees great potential in Brazil’s digital infrastructure sector. According to him, government incentives are crucial to accelerating investment.

We are very interested in investing in Brazil. We want the government to implement these incentives as soon as possible, because they are beneficial not only for the industry but also for the country,” Rulli stated.

The Brazilian government is currently preparing a proposal to offer tax breaks aimed at boosting technology sector investments, including data centers. A finance ministry adviser recently said the bill is expected to be submitted to Congress soon.

The move aligns with Brazil’s broader ambition to become a leading hub for data infrastructure in Latin America. As the region’s largest economy, Brazil is looking to capitalize on its abundant renewable energy resources to attract global tech investors.

Huawei is not alone in eyeing Brazil. Reports suggest the country is also drawing interest from other major global players.

If the tax plan proceeds as expected, Brazil could position itself as a strategic destination for global data infrastructure development — opening doors for more international tech expansion in the region.
