Inbizzy, California, United States — TRIC Robotics, a U.S.-based agricultural technology startup, is scaling up its robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) offering to help farmers grow chemical-free produce and improve crop profitability — starting with strawberries, one of the most pesticide-intensive crops globally.
The company’s full-service automation platform combines vision systems, AI-powered field analytics, and real-time insights. According to TRIC, pilot deployments have shown up to 70% reductions in pesticide use, highlighting a breakthrough in sustainable farming practices.
TRIC recently closed a seed funding round led by Version One Ventures, with additional backing from Garage Capital, Todd and Rahul Capital, Valor Equity Partners, Lucas Venture Group, Spacecadet, and Redstick Ventures. The round also attracted strategic angel investors, including founders of Clearpath Robotics and New Leader Manufacturing, as well as returning investors such as Undeterred Capital, Embark Ventures, Soundboard Venture Fund, and Central Coast Ventures.
The capital injection will fund the doubling of TRIC’s robot fleet, which currently includes nine operational units, with three more in production. The company will also expand operations into new regions, including Oxnard and Watsonville, and enhance its robotics platform with deeper automation and analytics features.
“Our mission is to give farmers the tools they need to grow more with less, without damaging the planet,” said Stager, CEO of TRIC Robotics. “This funding accelerates our growth to bring chemical-free solutions to farmers across major specialty crop growing regions in California.”
TRIC’s robot, Luna, is already in use across hundreds of commercial acres and is positioned as a scalable, environmentally responsible tool for high-value crop cultivation. The company made its early public debut during the Pitchfire competition at RoboBusiness 2023, gaining recognition within the global robotics investment community.
With environmental regulations tightening and consumer demand for chemical-free food rising, TRIC Robotics is poised to become a key player in the sustainable agriculture movement.
