Intel Announces Leadership Reshuffle to Strengthen Innovation and Foundry Growth

Inbizzy, Santa Clara, California, – Intel Corporation has announced a series of strategic leadership appointments aimed at accelerating innovation, reinforcing its core product business, and expanding its foundry operations. The move highlights Intel’s renewed focus on engineering excellence and execution across all divisions.

New Leader for Data Center Business

Intel appointed Kevork Kechichian as executive vice president and general manager of the Data Center Group (DCG). Kechichian, who previously held senior leadership roles at Arm, NXP Semiconductors, and Qualcomm, will oversee Intel’s cloud and enterprise data center business, including the Xeon processor family.

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan emphasized that Kechichian brings a unique blend of technical expertise and operational experience that will strengthen Intel’s position in the data center market.

Jim Johnson to Lead Client Computing Group

Jim Johnson, a 40-year Intel veteran, has been confirmed as senior vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group (CCG), after serving in the role on an interim basis. Johnson’s leadership will be pivotal as Intel prepares to launch its next generation of PC and edge products.

Formation of Central Engineering Group

Intel also introduced a new Central Engineering Group, led by Srinivasan (Srini) Iyengar, senior vice president and Intel Fellow. Iyengar, who recently joined Intel from Cadence Design Systems, will spearhead horizontal engineering initiatives and establish a new custom silicon business tailored to diverse external customers.

Strengthening Foundry Operations

In its foundry division, Naga Chandrasekaran, executive vice president and chief technology and operations officer of Intel Foundry, will expand his role to include Foundry Services. This integration will align technology development, manufacturing, and go-to-market strategies under a single leadership structure. Kevin O’Buckley will continue as senior vice president and general manager of Foundry Services, now reporting to Chandrasekaran.

Departure of Michelle Johnston Holthaus

Intel also announced that Michelle Johnston Holthaus, chief executive of Intel Products, will depart after more than three decades at the company. Holthaus has held several key leadership positions, including interim co-CEO, general manager of CCG, and chief revenue officer. She will remain as a strategic advisor during the transition period.

CEO Lip-Bu Tan praised Holthaus for her transformative leadership and long-standing contributions to Intel’s global growth.
